Welcome to Gentle Steps.  I have worked in the field of Early Childhood Education for over 25 years (that makes me sound old).  My passion for motivating and encouraging families has allowed for me to experience both blessings and challenges.  As a parent I can say the same - my greatest joy in my life is my son - now a grown man.  Yet I know firsthand that parenting is a challenge as well. 

I was married for over 21 years when my husband passed away and recently remarried to a wonderfully sweet man whose name is David.  While is awesome - like in all relationships - we face obstacles.  My grown son the other day referred to David as "my new dad" to a group of his friends.  My heart and soul leaped for joy.

I am a cancer survivor and currently under treatment.  I also am a diabetic and have lupus.  Learning to juggle my life and its demands is an on-going process.  Chronic illnesses can teach us so much about the importance of taking gentle steps.
